Dr. Mary Murphy Ph.D.

Hello! I am Dr. Mary Murphy!

Dr. Murphy is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in counseling, executive functioning / academic coaching, biofeedback, and psychological testing. Her counseling practice focuses on helping children, adolescents and adults with ADHD, depression, and anxiety. Her testing practice focuses on assessing children age 6 years and older for help with 504/ IEP planning and differential diagnosis for people of all ages.
 
The most common forms of treatments she provides is biofeedback, cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational counseling. Biofeedback is particularly useful for treatment of anxiety, stress, concussion, headache, pain, & ADHD symptoms.
 
Dr. Murphy completed advanced fellowship training at the Yale School of Medicine. She is currently an adjunct professor at Western Connecticut State University and is co-owner of the Center for Assessment and Psychotherapy in Newtown, CT. Outside of her time spent with patients she is an active member of the Newtown community. She currently serves as President of the Newtown Special Needs PTA (Newtown Sped PTA) and is also a social service consultant for the Children’s Adventure Center in Newtown.
